Biography: With a passion for working with the underserved, Dr. Poku did her residency training at John Stroger Hospital of Cook County after graduating medical school. She has remained committed to this goal and currently has a continuity clinic in the General Medicine Clinic where she has the opportunity to provide excellent care to a diverse patient population whilst developing long term relationships with patients in her primary care clinic.
Dr. Poku has had the opportunity to serve as co-director for two internal Medicine rotations; the Women’s Health rotation and the Ambulatory Medicine rotation in the course of her career at John Stroger Hospital. She has interests in Women's Health and Bariatrics and is actively developing a weight loss program at Stroger. Dr. Poku is also interested in medical education and became Associate Firm Chief in 2016.
Dr. Poku enjoys spending time with her family traveling, volunteering and enjoying music.
